September brought us a wonderful Mexican Independence Day fiesta at the Whale Watch Pavilion, with tamalitos, music, and of course—The Grito! Special thanks to Maria Luisa Elizundia and Deb Smith for planning this fun event. September also brought the start of the BHOA audit. The Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and General Manager had the first meeting with the Audit firm. The external Auditors are going to send weekly comments regarding this process. The conduit trenching company has not finished the final repairs and clean-up of debris, so your Board is actively working on the best way to get this completed. Restoring the beauty of our missions is a priority for the Board, so we have been removing excess signage, and are starting to reduce red painted curbs. Your Board had an impactful meeting with the SEMPRA committee. The Board voted to support their work fighting the expansion of SEMPRA and to create an Environmental Committee, with the goal of education, and support for clean air and water, the safety of residents, and protection of nature. Please contact the office to join our new Environmental Committee. Your Board is working on everything, from parties, to palm trees, painting, and everything in between. Drop your comments and suggestions in the mailbox by the office door or attend monthly board meetings and sign up for a time slot to speak to the Board. See you around Bajamar! | Septiembre nos trajo una maravillosa fiesta del Día de la Independencia de México en el Whale Watch Pavilion, con tamalitos, música y, por supuesto, ¡El Grito! Un agradecimiento especial a María Luisa Elizundia y Deb Smith por planear este divertido evento. Septiembre también trajo el inicio de la auditoría de la BHOA. El Consejo Directivo, el Comité de Auditoría y la Gerente General sostuvieron la primera reunión con la Firma de Auditoría. Los Auditores externos van a enviar comentarios semanales sobre este proceso. La empresa contratada para la excavación de zanjas para los conductos de fibra óptica no ha terminado las reparaciones finales ni la limpieza de escombros, por lo que seguimos trabajando activamente para lograr que este trabajo quede completo. Restaurar la belleza de nuestras misiones es una de nuestras prioridades, por lo que hemos estado eliminando el exceso de señalización y ya empezamos a reducir las aceras pintadas de rojo. Su Consejo Directivo tuvo una reunión impactante con el comité SEMPRA. La Junta votó a favor de apoyar su trabajo de lucha contra la expansión de SEMPRA y crear un Comité Ambiental, con el objetivo de educar sobre la importancia de cuidar el aire y el agua, la seguridad de los residentes y la protección de la naturaleza. Si usted desea unirse a este nuevo Comité Ambiental, comuníquese con la oficina. Su Junta está trabajando en todo, desde fiestas y palmeras hasta pintura.
