Your Board has been working toward big goals since the elections at the Annual General Meeting in April, and we are happy to report that things are moving forward! — The Audit Committee, staff, and Board will meet with the audit firm to launch the long-awaited first audit of the BHOA on September 6. — Bajamar has followed up on my request and done a nice job of cleaning up the weeds, and starting brick sidewalk repairs along the red road. — A member suggestion has resulted in a new, streamlined process for short-term rental (like Airbnb) owners to obtain pool passes for their guests. — The red paint surrounding fire hydrants has been reviewed and found to be in excess of what is required, so those areas will be shortened. Other red-painted curbs are still being researched. — Your Board is looking into the Lot Recovery Program (LRP) and believes there is much to learn about the details. Future plans? We are interested in reviewing the cases of the households which are not in good standing, and possibly using mediation to see what can be settled out of court. Bringing our neighbors into good standing adds dues-paying members and allows them to enjoy all the benefits of being part of our community. Are you ready to help your community? * We need your thoughts about what to do with two abandoned lots in Mision San Diego. * We need members for the Design Committee. Did you know? Access to the Board of Directors is more robust than it has ever been. You are invited to observe the monthly Board meetings. Arrive a few minutes early, and you may request an Open Forum slot to speak directly to the Board for two minutes about your suggestion or concern. You may still contact the Board or committees by messaging or calling the HOA office. You can even leave a private message for me in the Suggestions and Comments mailbox by the office door, to which I alone have access. Tu Consejo Directivo ha estado trabajando para lograr grandes objetivos desde las elecciones en la Asamblea General Anual en abril, ¡y nos complace informarles que las cosas están avanzando! — El Comité de Auditoría, el personal y el Consejo Directivo se reunirán con la firma de auditoría para lanzar la tan esperada primera auditoría de la BHOA el 6 de septiembre. — Bajamar atendió mi solicitud e hizo un buen trabajo limpiando la maleza y comenzando a reparar las aceras de ladrillo a lo largo de la carretera roja. — Una sugerencia de un vecino ha dado como resultado un proceso nuevo y simplificado para que los propietarios de alquileres a corto plazo (como Airbnb) obtengan pases para la piscina para sus huéspedes. — Se revisó la pintura roja que rodea los hidrantes contra incendios y se encontró que excede lo requerido, por lo que esas áreas se acortarán. Otras áreas pintadas de rojo aún están en proceso de revisión. — Tu Consejo Directivo está revisando el Programa de Recuperación de Lotes (LRP) pues creemos que tenemos mucho que aprender sobre los detalles. ¿Planes futuros? Estamos interesados en revisar los casos de las residencias que no están al día y posiblemente utilizar la mediación para ver qué se puede resolver extrajudicialmente. Lograr que nuestros vecinos cumplan con sus obligaciones no sólo agrega miembros que pagan cuotas, sino que les permite disfrutar de todos los beneficios de ser parte de nuestra comunidad. ¿Estás listo para ayudar a tu comunidad? * Necesitamos su opinión sobre qué hacer con dos lotes abandonados en Misión San Diego. * Necesitamos miembros para el Comité de Diseño. ¿Lo Sabías? El acceso al Consejo Directivo es más sólido que nunca. Estás invitado a observar las reuniones mensuales. Llega unos minutos antes y podrás solicitar un espacio en el Foro Abierto para hablar en la reunión durante dos minutos y plantear tu sugerencia o inquietud. Si lo deseas, también puedes comunicarte con el Consejo Directivo o los comités enviando mensajes o llamando a la oficina de la Asociación. Incluso puedes dejarme un mensaje privado en el Buzón de Sugerencias y Comentarios que hay junto a la puerta de la oficina, al que sólo yo tengo acceso. ¡Nos vemos en la celebración del Día de la Independencia de México el 15 de septiembre! |
