President's Message

Greetings, neighbors!
At the BHOA Annual General Meeting in April, the new Board agreed on the roles each of us would take. This is the second year of my two-year term, and I'm eager to serve now as your President. My goal for the upcoming year is to have transparency, accountability, and unity -- within the Board, and with you.
Here's what I have been focusing on this month:
* I scheduled a meeting with Mario at DUBCSA to discuss solutions to concerns I had brought up at Board meetings throughout 2022: that the landscaping outside our neighborhoods be cleared, the cuttings removed from sidewalks on the main road, and that those walkways be repaired. After my meeting, we saw workers moving to complete these tasks, and our neighborhoods are looking better... |

¡Saludos, vecinos!
En la Asamblea General Anual de la BHOA en abril, el nuevo Consejo Directivo acordó las posiciones que cada uno de nosotros tendría. Este es el segundo año de mi mandato de dos años y estoy ansiosa por servir ahora como su Presidente. Mi objetivo para este nuevo año es tener transparencia, responsabilidad y unidad, dentro del Consejo Directivo y con usted.
A continuación detallo los temas en los que me he centrado este mes:
* Programé una reunión con Mario en Dubcsa para discutir soluciones a varios de los asuntos que han sido motivo de preocupación desde 2022, entre otros, que se limpien los jardines fuera de nuestros vecindarios, que se retire la basura producida al podar las plantas en las aceras y en la carretera principal, y que se reparen aceras. Después de mi reunión, vimos trabajadores... |

A busy time for the streets!

The conduit digging phase for fiber optic installations is nearly done. The contractor has supplied us with a map showing their work timeline.
By the time you receive this newsletter, there should be only two remaining sections to be completed. Then the actual fiber optic installation work begins.

Toll Roads in Mexico
How to use the IAVE booths fast and easily

For those who regularly use the toll road, you should know this:
There is a system to pass the booths on the toll road called IAVE that allows you to pass without having to make the line (or at least, making a shorter one).
In Mexico, you can use different toll tags; however, we have found that the tag called PASE is the one that works best and handling it is really user friendly and it is also the only one that accept payments even with foreign credit cards... |

El sistema IAVE para pasar por las casetas de peaje evita tener que hacer filas (o por lo menos, ayuda a que la fila sea más corta).

Bajamar Rotary Club

Bajamar now has a Class III Fire Engine. This donation was facilitated through a partnership between Baja Bridges, DUBSCA and the Rotary Club of Bajamar.
The coordinated effort will allow fire and EMT training to be provided by Ensenada and Rosarito Fire Departments.
DUBSCA is providing a fire station on site which will allow the bomberos to respond to a local emergency.
This is only one of the many projects and accomplishments that the Rotary Club has made possible.
We all are invited to attend the unveiling/dedication of the Fire Engine on June 7 at 1 pm in the hotel parking lot... |
Club Rotario Bajamar

Gracias a los esfuerzos de Baja Bridges, DUBSCA y Club Rotario de Bajamar, ahora contamos con un Camión de Bomberos para Bombeo de Agua.
En un esfuerzo coordinado, los Bomberos de Ensenada y Rosarito nos capacitarán en manejo de incendios y emergencias médicas.
DUBSCA proporcionará la estación de bomberos de Bajamar, lo que permitirá a los bomberos responder ante una emergencia local.
Este es sólo uno de muchos proyectos que el Club Rotario de Bajamar ha hecho posible.
Todos estamos invitados a la presentación/dedicación del Camión de Bomberos este 7 de junio... |
